'Another fine win for David Nichols yesterday in Round 5 (Junior) of the National Trophy held around Rutland Water in the East Midlands. Dave finished 17 seconds ahead of Sam Harrison puncturing just before crossing the line! Tom Castle finished in 21st place.
It was by all accounts a mud bath for all contestants, all encountering the stiffest course yet in the series.
On this form Dave must be going into the National Championships as top seed, and heading towards the Championship jersey.'
(We have Nigel to thank for the above picture of Chris Hoy which was taken during the Parade in London on 16th October.)

In July this year I received a letter from Mrs. Tanis Roberts offering to donate to the Club her father's cycling medals - which date back before the war. The medals have now been received and pictures of some of them and a copy of Mrs.Roberts's letter are on the Photo Gallery.
I have thanked Mrs. Roberts for her generosity and on behalf of the Club wish to express our appreciation. In 3 year's time the Club will have been in existence for 80 years and the donation of these medals reminds us of past times and past riders. Long may we thrive !
