13/3 Jock Wadley Memorial RR
The relatively flat circuit over Abberton Reservoir, Colchester provided the setting for this notoriously hard race. The cold, windy conditions was the main problem for riders over the 140 km. A large field of good quality riders (E.1.2.3) were split quickly by the conditions after a short delay on lap 1 of 13. A break of 6 riders, not containing any Glendene riders, managed to establish nearly a minute lead on the bunch. Michael Gardner made a good effort to be in it, but just missed out. Edward Whitehorn made the first attempt of chase from the bunch. After hovering a short distance in front of the bunch he was joined by 3 other riders. The effort continued and the gap grew on the bunch and break was slowly coming back. Tony Gibb (Team DFL) joined the chasing group from the bunch half a lap later on his own. The group caught the breakaway within the next lap. (It sounds so easy when I put it like that, if only). The group continued to increase their advantage. Meanwhile Sean Kilroy had managed to get into a chasing group ahead of the bunch.

The leading group, containing Ed, continued to work well. As the race progressed the conditions and distance were telling. With 2.5 laps to go and attack from Gary Baker (Angliasport RT) caused the leaders disruption. Causing gaps to form. Unfortunately, Ed didn't have the strength to close a gap and was left trailing along with 2 other riders. The group ahead stayed together and Tony Gibb outsprinted his rivals to claim victory. Edward rolled in a good 4 minutes down to take 9th.

Sean suffered a similar fate to Edward in his group, just unable to close a gap. Sean finished in 18th position.

12/3 Simon Hook Memorial 3.4.J Criterium
A field containing some strong Juniors lined up for the ERRL qualifying event at Eastway. Russell Hampton was the victor after being in a break of two riders for over half of the race. Ben Swift (Kinesis RT), himself a good Junior rider, was easily beaten by Russell in the final sprint. This was Russell Hampton's first win of the season.

Kristian Downs also performed well to claim 4th after getting in a small chasing group of riders. He was beaten in the sprint for 3rd by Alex Atkins (Evans RT).

The race contested over 100km at Tenterden, Kent saw over 70 Elites, 1st, 2nd and 3rd category riders line up in the cold conditions.

The action started early on with various attacks on the first lap which resulted in a break of riders including Tony Gibb (Team DFL), Bryan Taylor (VC Londres) and Warrick Spence (London Dynamo). They quickly established a lead of over a minute which they maintained for a further lap. The early pressure took its toll on the breakaway riders. Tony Gibb became the lone leader after halfway. Meanwhile on the second of the five laps Edward Whitehorn started applying the pressure along with last year's winner Gary Baker (Angliasport RT). Various attacks were neutralised but the bunch splintered behind. Climbing up to the finish with 2 laps to go a group of about 15 riders, including Edward, established themselves ahead of the main bunch. The group worked well but made little progress on the leader. The rest of the early break were caught and dropped.

One lap to go and Tony Gibb looked like he was in a strong position to claim victory with a 50 second lead . The lone miles took their toll and his lead diminished in the strong crosswinds. With less than half a lap to go Tony Gibb was caught by the chasing group which had lost some of the original 15 riders. Attacks from the large group, now going for victory, occurred frequently. Edward manage to gain a small advantage with Rob Hurd, the eventual winner, however was pulled back by the group. Slight hesitation allowed Rob Hurd to escape again and chasers were reluctant.

Rob Hurd won with a small lead. Gary Baker claimed the group sprint for 2nd, Andy Lyons (Stilton RT) 3rd and Edward 4th.

The new Glendene Junior Team made their presence felt in the 70km race with Alex Dowsett yet again showing his strength to claim 2nd. After being in a break with fellow team member Russell Hampton he broke away with eventual winner Paul Wilkes (Team Bradgate). Despite being the main driving force out of the two riders the other rider had the finish. Russell Hampton came 2nd in the group sprint behind to claim 4th.

6/3 Crest Spring RR. [Result: BCF]
Sean Kilroy finished 2nd and Adrian Ramsbottom finished 4th on a testing circuit near Ugley, Essex. Dan Staite (Cambridge CC) attacked from lap 1 and the lone rider built up a comfortable lead. Sean escaped the bunch on lap 2 of 8. He promptly joined by 7 other riders including Adrian. The group could not catch the leader, but Sean, Adrian and Digby Simmoms (Cambridge CC) broke away from of the rest break. In the closing stages Digby Simmons attacked. Sean held on and manage to out sprint the Cambridge CC rider to claim 2nd place. Adrian finished shortly afterwards to claim 4th.

6/3 Hainault Hilly
On a tough course with cold conditions Mark Porter recorded a time of 1h24m42s which positioned him 9th and he was also the fastest in his handicap group. Geoff Martin also rode completing the course in 1h33m49s. The winner was Tristan Devine (Elite CC) in a time of 1h16m10s.
