Mallorca, Spain (October)
Glendene trip to Mallorca with ten club members and two friends for
five days. Riders enjoyed the exhilaration and challenge of the
undulating roads and beautiful mountains that the island has to offer.
Everyone hung out at a seafront hotel in Port de Pollença and used this
as a base for the rides. Great local bars too!
Day 1
Port de Pollença to Cap de Formentor headland, the northern most
point on the island. A scenic route with a few punchy climbs and
hairpins. A great way to get the legs ready for the coming days. [28
miles, 45 km]
Day 2
A long loop round the eastern side of the island. Passing through
stunning countryside and along coastal roads and the well known Sant
Salvador climb. Port de Pollença - Arta - Capdepera - Sant Salvador - Sa
Pobla - Port de Pollença. [109 miles, 175 km]
Day 3
A long loop on the scenic mountainous north-eastern side of the
island. Port de Pollença - Inca - Santa Maria del Cami - Esporles -
Soller - over the mountains with so many hairpins and back to Port de
Pollença. [106 miles, 170 km]
Day 4
Back to the mountains on the north- eastern side with a shorter loop.
Port de Pollença - Inca - Santa Maria del Cami - Soller - mountains and
hairpins again - Pollença - Port de Pollença. [88 miles, 140 km]
Unfortunately, one day of riding was lost due to heavy rain and
storms. Typical weather for Mallorca in October!
The Dolomites, Northern Italy (May)
The group stayed in Badia, an ideal
location for discovering truly stunning mountain routes.
Mount Teide, Tenerife (February)
The group explored the mountain area around the volcano and found some
challenging climbs with amazing scenery.
